The Nina Johnson gallery, Miami is hosting a solo exhibition by Nicolas Lobo titled “Cash Me Out”, on view through April 22, 2017. The exhibition showcases six carbon fiber and terracotta bas-relief works by Lobo. Each has a rectilinear substrate made of carbon fiber that supports irregularly shaped wads and disks of terracotta. The artworks are reflective of the ambitions, and shortcomings, of industrially-manufactured objects, as well as the collapsing hegemony of modernism, and the hierarchy of culture.
